A working landscape evolving to support biodiversity, with nature at the heart of everything we do.

Stewardship for future generations

Tockington Park is more than a collection of buildings. It is a working landscape that has been cared for by the family for six generations.

Alongside the restoration of the estate’s farm buildings, we are committed to enhancing biodiversity across the land through habitat creation, careful stewardship and long-term environmental management. From species-rich grassland to traditional orchard creation, these projects are designed to support wildlife, strengthen local ecosystems and leave the landscape in better condition for future generations.

As Chartered Surveyors with backgrounds in property, planning and land management, we believe thoughtful development and nature recovery can work hand in hand.

What is Biodiversity Net Gain?

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is a requirement for most new developments in England.

In simple terms, developments must leave nature in a measurably better state than before. Where this cannot be fully achieved on a development site, developers can purchase Biodiversity Net Gain units from landowners who are creating and managing habitats elsewhere.

At Tockington Park, we are establishing habitat banks that will deliver long-term environmental benefits while helping developers meet their biodiversity obligations.

Biodiversity Net Gain units

Tockington Park currently offers Biodiversity Net Gain units within the South Gloucestershire Local Planning Authority area.

The habitat bank includes:

  • 137.3 Biodiversity Net Gain units available
  • Traditional orchard habitat creation
  • Other neutral grassland habitat creation
  • Long-term management secured through a Conservation Covenant

The site sits within the Bristol Avon Valleys and Ridges National Character Area and aligns with the West of England Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
